I had the best school year anyone could ever ask for. Here, on this website, I don’t usually brag, but now, I feel like I just want to share every single good thing that has happened to me this year.

First: Junior Beta Club. This is a club for the top academic students, but not really. I mean, it supposed to be, but it’s not. All you really need to get in the first semester is all A’s in fourth grade, and for the second semester, all you need is all A’s in the first semester of fifth grade. And this sounds very easy to me, but for some, it might not be. So I can’t really say anything about that. But I will say most of the kids there were in both accelerated classes for math and ELA, just like me! It really was a great experience being in Beta Club.

Second: The spelling bee. I was good at spelling last year, in fourth grade, where I got first place in both the school bee and class bee. This year, however, I wasn’t so lucky, as I got 3rd in the school bee. But I still got first in the class, and that’s enough to make me happy! It wasn’t all bad, anyways, as my best friend Shivansh got second. Speaking of Shivansh, go check out his website! It’s linked on the homepage. And without further ado, onto the next thing.

This third thing is not so much academic as it is creative. I got selected for the Gwinnett County Art Show, where each and every school in the county selected a small number of art pieces from the art that students have made to display. The last time this happened to me was in first grade, and it was quite an honor to have it again. Besides, we even got pizza after! How fun is that???? AWESOME!!!!!!!

The fourth thing has absolutely nothing to do with school. It’s not even as significant when you think about it, but it made me soooooo happy. I got a new bed! It’s a loft bed, and underneath the main bed is this little space where you can just relax. It even came with LED lighting!

Fifth: Getting nominated for Gifted Student of the Year. It made me sooo happy to know that my teachers really thought I could do it. There’s not much to say about this, except for the fact that we literally had to straight up BRAG about ourselves in the application (Like I’m doing here!), and it felt so weird doing it. But hey, this is foreshadowing for the next event.

6th: I GOT GIFTED STUDENT OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!! I told you, foreshadowing. I was so happy when they announced it, and I finally got what people meant when they said “You’re lighter when you’re happy.” Because on my way back to class, it felt like I was floating. Maybe I was, I’ll never know. I was too focused on telling my friends, who, obviously, were so happy. That’s another thing. I have the best friend group probably in the world.

This thing has no significance compared to getting GSOTY, but I got selected for the annual Brookwood Cluster Art Show. And the best part was, most of my friends got it too! So us three were just walking around Brookwood High’s cafeteria with our popsicles and it just made all three of us so happy.

All right. Time for the last thing that happened during the school year. This doesn’t have anything to do with school, but since it made me happy, I’m putting it in here. I play soccer, and this particular spring season, our team was not going so well. We lost a lot of games, but that was only the games that didn’t matter much. Because at the time when it mattered, when the game decided whether we went to the finals or not, we locked in. We won those games so well. We ended up getting the gold medal, even though none of us, even the most optimistic, thought we would at the beginning of the season.

And with that, the things that have made me happy this year have been expressed. I thank you for reading this, and again, GO CHECK OUT SHIVANSH’S SITE!!!!!!!! It’s awesome and a thousand times better than this. Please! Also, while you’re at it, could you check out my YouTube channel? It’s @NavyaRuby. The channel is called The Random Ruby Girl. Ty, byeeeee! Hooman out!
